The faculty of Roman-German languages
On November 8, 1994, simultaneously with the Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages, the faculties of German and French were established. In 2005, the faculty of Roman-German philology was established on the basis of these two faculties. Since 2017, the Faculty of Roman-German Philology has been called the Faculty of Roman-German Languages.
Currently, 1,670 students are studying at the faculty, 1,100 of them are girls and 570 are boys. Also, 8 professors, 21 associate professors, 4 foreign specialists and 117 teachers are teaching at the faculty.
The faculty closely cooperates with the embassies of France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Russia, international Erasmus+ and DAAD funds.

Representatives of local and international partner universities, employees of Samarkand Region Internal Affairs Department, Samarkand Customs Department, Samarkand AIDS Center and Youth Affairs Agency and Youth Union organizations, faculty professors and students are constantly participating in these events.

The team of the faculty of Romano-Germanic languages has achieved certain achievements in the field of developing the higher education system based on world standards with modern ped-technologies, training highly qualified, all-round potential, intellectually mature specialists and successfully fulfilling the above tasks. is getting married. Also, important issues related to improving the quality of education include improving the quality of personnel training, organizing the educational process based on the requirements of modern informational and pedagogical technologies, increasing the scientific and methodological potential of professors and teachers, providing textbooks and training manuals in modern educational laboratories. Many scientific activities are being conducted with a systematic goal of increasing the level of equipment provision and increasing students' comprehensive interest in the taught subjects.
The research activity of the faculty consists of several topics, such as "Text Linguistics and Methodology of Foreign Language Teaching", "Current Problems of Modern Linguistics", "Using Digital Technologies in German Language Teaching", "New Methodological Methods of Teaching Spanish and Italian Languages". and now the professors and teachers of the faculty regularly publish scientific articles in these areas and defend many master's dissertations and graduation qualification theses. A strategic plan for the development of scientific-pedagogical personnel training and scientific-research work of the Faculty has been developed. Accordingly, special attention is paid to:
