In accordance with the decrees of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PD-5847 “On the approval of the concept for the development of the higher education system of the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2030” dated October 8, 2019, and No. DP-6003 “On improving the position of the Republic of Uzbekistan in international ratings and indexes, as well as the implementation of a new mechanism for systematic work with them in state bodies and organizations” dated June 2, 2020, the “Department for cooperation with international ratings” was established at the Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages.

The main tasks of the department for working with international ratings are:

- general management of all department activities;
- preparation of work plans, road maps and work programs of the department and ensuring their execution;
- coordination of the activities of responsible links in the educational institution, based on the goals of the department;
- establishing and developing cooperation with international rating agencies such as Times Higher Education (THE), Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), u-Multirank, Webometrics, UniRank, Universities of the World with real impact, IU-Greenmetric, MosIUR, etc.;
- providing information and data on the institute for participation in subject ranking, world rankings of universities, etc.;
- continuous monitoring of parameters affecting the indicators of the institute rating;
- refinement of indicators for assessing the contributions made by the departments and faculties of the institute within international rankings;
- familiarization of departments staff with the requirements of the international ranking system;
- participation in international rankings, improvement and development of department activities;
- ensuring and monitoring the implementation at faculties, departments and laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Education", decrees, orders, resolutions of the President, resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers, decisions of the Board, orders, instructions, modems and telephone messages of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education, as well as orders of the rector of the Institute.
