The department began its work in August 2001. Associate Professor Suleymanov M.D. was appointed head of the department.

In 2001, the teachers of the department taught mainly third-year students in lexicology, stylistics, and the basics of foreign languages. In addition, teaching practice, guidance over the Graduation Diploma and MD.
