The scientific direction of the department is called " Language typology and interlinguistic methodology". Accordingly, professors and teachers are conducting research in this direction.
For example, Absamadova Munira Isroilovna is preparing for the defense of PhD theses on "Scientific methodological basis of teaching translation to students (based on journalistic texts)", Mukarramxadjayeva Taxmina Yunusovna working on “Linguistic and linguocultural characteristics of conversational phraseology in English and Uzbek languages” Shermatova Nigora Isoqulovna preparing  “Functional and semantic field and conceptual expression of contact verbs (using the example of English and Uzbek languages) ”
