The Department’s research focus is “The study of literary and scientific texts in English and Uzbek from a comparative linguistic and translation studies perspective, as well as contemporary trends in English language teaching.” Accordingly, the faculty members of the Department are conducting research activities in this field.

An academic article by the Head of the Department, Esirgapov Mukhiddin Nizomiddinovich, was published in the prestigious international scientific journal International Journal of Applied Linguistics, which is indexed in the Scopus database. The journal belongs to the Q1 quartile in the field of Linguistics and Language and has an SJR 2025 of 1.169 and an H-index of 60.

K.N. Maxmudova, X.Sh. Shamsiyeva, Ch.B. Sadikova, and N.B. Pardayeva are currently preparing their PhD dissertations for defense.

Various academic subject clubs have been established under the Department with the aim of further developing students’ speaking, reading, writing, and grammatical and lexical literacy skills, as well as fostering their public speaking and oratory skills.

The faculty members of the Department actively participate in research activities. In accordance with the Department’s research plan, scientific conferences, seminars, and academic events are regularly organized. Faculty members and students of the Department regularly participate in international and national scientific-practical conferences and publish their research articles in academic journals.

RESEARCH OUTPUT

During the current academic year, based on the results of research conducted at the Department, textbooks, teaching manuals, monographs, and conference proceedings/abstracts have been published in international and foreign academic journals and presented at scientific-practical conferences.
