Amir Timur was a great statesman of the Middle Ages, a great Turkic commander, the founder of a powerful, centralized state, and a patron of science and culture. Amir Timur strengthened the political and economic state of the country and put an end to the internal disunity that had been going on for a long time.

Today, on the occasion of the 867th anniversary of the birth of the great ruler and statesman Amir Timur, a event called "Respect to the Memory of Sahibqiran" was organized by the tutors and teachers of  English Faculty II, and the Department of Humanities and Information Technologies, Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages. The event was opened by the institute rector, Ilkhomjon Madaminovich Tukhtasinov, who spoke about the life and activities of the great ruler. Associate Professor Rahmonov Sunnatillo Mavlonovich spoke in detail about the life path of Amir Timur, his place in world history, and the work done to perpetuate the memory of Amir Timur.
