The scientific potential of the Department is one of the leading places not only in the Institute, but also in the country. Over the years ,the Department of phonetics and grammar of the German language was founded, in the early years the Department carried out the activities of the Assoc. Samadov H. S., Doc. Ibragimov, H. S.docent. Nomozov K. N., Doc. Ergashev, prof. Tursunov,B. T.,docent. Vaydo O. I., Doc. Turniyozova K.A. . Docent Mirsaidova H., Doc. Khusainova/Allayeva. Heads of the Department were Assoc. Samadov H. S., associate Professor Ibragimov, H. S., docent. Nomozov K. N., Doc. Nazarov P.J. Zhumaev O., Doc. B. Y. Primov. In 2014-2015 academic year the Department of phonetics and grammar merged with the Department of German Philology and formed the Department of German Philology. Currently, the Department is called the Department of German language and literature and the Department has 2 doctors of Philology professors, 3 PhDs, associate professors, 4 senior teachers, 6 teachers of trainees and 10 teachers of assistants. Such scientists as A. M.Bushuy an Rizayev B. H. famous all over the Republic, many of their students carry out teaching and research activities in various educational institutions.

Leading specialists of the Department annually prepare gifted students for the Olympiad in the German language. In may, 2009 4th year student Ulugbek Jahangirov took an honorable 3rd place in the 2013 student of 1 course Ruslan Jahangirov took 2nd place and were awarded medals and certificates. Every year our students get education in institutes and universities of Germany. Our students participating in the second stage of the national language Olympiad consistently occupy 1,2,3 places. The 2-year master student majoring in Linguistics (German language) Matluba Adilova in 2012-2013 and Karimov Jamshed in the 2017-2018 academic year, a scholarship the Presidential scholarship of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The Department operates a circle "LINGUIST", whose members are excellent students and undergraduates of the faculty. Many undergraduates and teachers of the Department conduct scientific work. The theme of the scientific direction of the Department is "Linguistics of the text and its categories." The Department has close scientific relations with many countries.

The department has developed a strategic plan for the training and development of scientific and pedagogical personnel for 2020-2021. In accordance with the plan, particular attention was paid to the following:

• Attracting independent researchers and gifted young teachers to doctoral studies in order to develop the scientific potential of the department;
• Correct organization of the activities of the teachers of the department in the scientific community of the faculty in their chosen specialty;
• Formation of a base of scientific articles and scientific theories (works) in the scientific direction of the department "Textual linguistics and methods of teaching foreign languages";
• Conducting research in the scientific direction of the department, topical issues of modern linguistics, as well as the publication of their results in national and international scientific journals.

The department has a plan for a research and scientific-methodological seminar

An annual plan for working with gifted students has been developed, which is being implemented during the 2020-2021 academic year. In particular, a list of students assigned to the teachers of the department was formed. Each student has chosen a topic of interest to him, on which he should work under the guidance of a teacher, and his or her list is handed over to the appropriate responsible person.

The department employs 33 units of the teaching staff on the basis of 26 staff units. Of these, 1 professor, 7 candidates of sciences, 6 senior teachers, 14 assistants and trainee teachers. The scientific potential of the department is 28%.

Activities of senior researchers and researchers of the department

At the department, there are two senior scientific workers (A.O. Muminova - scientific supervisor prof. B.Kh. Rizaev, N.A. Sobirova - scientific supervisor of the Ph.D., associate professor M.B. Begmatov). One of them is in the 3rd year of doctoral studies, and the other is in the second.

Training of scientific and pedagogical personnel based on research practice at the department

The department employs one teacher as a trainee researcher (Mamasoliev I.Yu. "Stylistic and pragmatic functions of applied structures in modern German", supervisor associate professor M.B. Begmatov).

Implementation of the long-term plan of the department for the training of scientific and pedagogical personnel. The department has a long-term plan for the training of scientific and pedagogical personnel, which provides for the attraction of one young teacher as a trainee researcher in 2020 and the defense of one candidate of sciences in 2021. In addition, in the fall, it is planned to form the most talented masters studying at our institute as a reserve of scientific and pedagogical personnel of the department.

Within the framework of the priority scientific direction of the department, the teaching staff regularly conducts scientific research. In particular, the senior teacher O.K. Dzhumaev "Problems of emotionality in a literary text", M.А. Kuchiev "The use of relative constructions in literary text", A.Sh. Shoimov conducts research on the topic "Euphemisms in the intercultural world", G.A. Azimkulova "Internet im Fremdsprachenunterricht als Medium neuer Lernkultur", U.U. Sattorov "Cognitive characteristics of the comparative structures of the German language."
