The Department of Theory of Language and Literature

In the "Program of Measures for 2019-2020 on the Expansion and Development of the Use of the Uzbek Language as the State Language, Support for Scientific Research, and the Improvement of Teaching Methods," presented by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, specific tasks were outlined. Towards the end of 2019, the objective was set to introduce teaching programs for the Uzbek language and literature and establish departments for these disciplines in all non-philological universities. As a result of these reforms, these departments have assumed a pivotal role within the institutions.

In its initial years, the Department of General and Applied Linguistics was among the leaders in attracting young and talented individuals to engage in scientific activities, preparing doctoral and candidate degree holders, conducting external dissertation reviews, and creating modern educational materials. Presently, in various regions of our Republic, one can find numerous researchers who have attained doctoral and candidate degrees, benefiting from the academic environment provided by this department. The majority of them currently hold positions as leading professors and instructors within our institutes
