Events that showcase the beauty and rich cultural history of the Chinese language on Chinese Language Day are held internationally. Workshops and seminars feature prominent Chinese authors, poets, and calligraphers. Concerts featuring Chinese music, martial arts performances, and calligraphy exhibitions are held around the world. In this regard, the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Uzbekistan, Samarkand Confucius Institute at SamSIFL, and the Faculty of Oriental Languages organized a "Chinese Song Contest" at the Faculty of Oriental Languages on the occasion of Chinese Language Day.
This important day was celebrated by the UN in the framework of international friendship with China, and April 20 has been chosen as "International Chinese Language Day" since 2010.
The rector of Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov delivered an introductory speech and congratulated all students and teachers of the Chinese language on this day. At the same time, the rector noted that today the cooperation between Uzbekistan and China is developing steadily and the friendly relations between the two countries are constantly strengthening.
The event continued in high spirits, with 12 students competing. The talented students were evaluated by the judges. According to the results,
- the 1st place was taken by Normahmadova Malika, a student of group 2117;
- the 2nd place was taken by Vlad Rajkov, a student of group 2127, and Negmatova Aziza, a student of group 220;
- and the 3rd place was taken by Abdullayeva Shalola, a student of group 2111, Abdujalolova Maftuna, a student of group 328, and Eshquvvatova Farida, a student of the group 207.
At the end of the event, all winners and participants were awarded with valuable prizes.
