In his speech on the problems of higher education, the President says: “University is a big family. The head of this family is the rector. Parents have entrusted their greatest asset to the rectors. That's why rectors have to do their job sincerely."

''I recently read an article in the "Yangi O'zbekiston" newspaper by Ilkhomjon To'xtasinov, the rector of Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages. Academician Akil Salimov also paid special attention that Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages currently cooperates with about 100 foreign universities, as well as with a number of German universities to create jobs for students, to gain experience abroad and study advanced technologies in developed  countries.
