A practical-methodical seminar on "TEACHING ENGLISH FOR SPECIFIC PURPOSES IN UZBEKISTAN" was held, which was initiated by Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages, the Agency for Promoting of Foreign Language Learning, the US Embassy in Uzbekistan, Tashkent branch of Russian State University of Oil and Gas named after I.M.Gubkin, as well as the UzTESPING project.

The seminar is aimed at mastering modern methods of teaching English in non-philological higher education institutions in the field of specialization (English for Specific Purposes), the gradual training of teachers working in this field, the training of specialists. It was established to create opportunities for mutual exchange of experience and their cooperation with universities in the country and abroad.
