On April 9, Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages   hosted an event dedicated to the 686th anniversary of the Great Commander Amir Timur. The rector of the institute I.Tukhtasinov opened the event with an introductory speech. In his speech the rector mentioned that 'Timur Tuzuklari' is an invaluable historical source of the Middle Ages, and it contains a biography of Timur's life, the views of famous statesmen and commanders on the art of war, the structure and management of the state. The event featured performances, dances and songs by students of the institute. In particular, teachers and students who were active in organizing the event were awarded certificates and books by the institute. The winners of the "Kurash" competition held at SamSIFL dedicated to the 686th anniversary of Amir Temur   were also awarded prizes and diplomas.
