An international conference on "The role of international research in education in the development of New Uzbekistan" was held on April 13, 2022, at the Youth Center in Samarkand with the participation of  Andreas Schleicher, Director for Education and Skills, and Special Advisor on Education Policy to the Secretary-General at the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), initiator and head of the PISA program.   

The conference also included a meeting with the regional administration and officials of higher education institutions, which focused on the role and expected results of the PISA-2022 assessment program in improving the education system, human capital development, Uzbekistan's participation in international research, future plans, and a number of other issues.

Through PISA research, the country's education system, organization of education, critical and creative thinking, ability to apply knowledge in life, parents' attention to their children's education, and home environment are studied in detail to obtain scientifically based and reliable data.
