On January 31, representatives from Nara Prefecture in Japan visited Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages. A meeting was conducted to enhance cooperation between the institute and Nara Prefecture. During the meeting, the institute's acting rector, Mr. Fazliddin Ruzikulov, and Mr. Tasuya Hitomi, the director of the International Cooperation Department of Nara Prefecture, exchanged proposals for the development of cooperation relations.

The discussions encompassed the exchange of professors and students, the advancement of experiential learning, the initiation of new collaborative educational projects, and the development of textbooks for teaching both Japanese and Uzbek languages. Additionally, considerations were given to the introduction of new educational literature for the benefit of both parties.
