Department of Translation Theory and Practice

The Department of Translation Theory and Practice was established in 1998 under the name "Department of Languages and Translation" to meet the needs of students pursuing translation studies at the institute. In 2003, it was renamed the Department of Translation Theory and Practice.
The department is staffed by a distinguished team of faculty, including two Doctors of Philology (Prof. Sh.S. Safarov and Acting Prof. F.R. Khalimova), one qualified international expert (Prof. Ravender Gargash), and four associate professors with the academic rank of Candidate of Philology or PhD (Assoc. Prof. U.U. Kuldoshov, Assoc. Prof. L.E. Kholmuradova, Assoc. Prof. Z.I. Salieva, Assoc. Prof. N.Y.Turdiyeva). Additionally, the department includes two acting associate professors (N.K. Daminov, A.N. Kasimova), five senior lecturers, five assistant lecturers, and nine trainee teachers. In total, the department has an academic staff of 26 members.
