On May 17, 2022, at the initiative of the Department «Methodology and Practice of Teaching English» of the Faculty of English I, an international scientific and practical conference was held on the topic «Modern methods of teaching foreign languages: problems and solutions»

The conference aims to discuss such issues as education in a foreign language, effective methods of teaching foreign languages, their types and methods of researching, modern teaching methods, areas studied and to be studied.

With the participation of well-known foreign and host scientists, linguists and qualified foreign language teachers, researchers of institutions of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education, Public Education, as well as representatives of universities in Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, India, Turkey, Indonesia, Spain, and South Korea, as well as other foreign countries reporting on topical issues of teaching foreign languages at the plenary session, the conference continued its work in the following groups:

- Actual problems of language teaching in modern education;
- Developing communicative competence in foreign languages in the digital education;
- Methods of teaching a foreign language in the case of integration of language, translation and methodology;
- Introduction of innovative methods of teaching a foreign language in distance learning.
